Abstract: This research presents the results from a small scale mixed method project on the experiences of low-performance students in a high school in Kandal Province (male and female). This research will be focused mainly on characteristics of low-performance, factors affecting academic performance of low-performance students, and support mechanisms to improve their learning. This study was conducted with 108 students, 12 teachers and a school principal in a high school in Kandal Province, Cambodia. The collected data describes their self-reported experiences of the factors that cause them get low-performance, the activities that they usually do at home, at school, or outside with their friends and what the school and teachers react to those kinds of students.
